Lent begins soon. Let us turn back to the Lord with renewed faith, prayer, and acts of love as we prepare for Easter.
Dear friends in Christ,
Ash Wednesday falls on February 18, marking the beginning of the holy season of Lent. Lent is a sacred journey of 40 days, reminding us of Jesus’ forty-day fast in the desert and His victory over temptation as He prepared to begin His public ministry.
As your Pastor, I invite and encourage each of you to enter this season with renewed commitment. Lent calls us to deeper prayer, a change of heart and lifestyle, and the practice of self-denial, so that we may grow closer to Christ and to one another.
As we did last year, we will again hold a half-day Lenten retreat on one of the Saturdays during Lent. A priest from another parish will join us to help guide our reflection and renewal, so that we may celebrate the joy of Easter more worthily on April 5.
Throughout Lent, we will have the Stations of the Cross at both parish locations on Wednesdays and Fridays, along with opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of these moments of grace.
My prayer is that this Lenten season will not pass by unnoticed, but will bear abundant fruits of repentance, conversion, and new life in each of our hearts.
May the Lord bless you and guide you on this sacred journey.
In Christ,
Father Johnson
