Fr. George Kochuparambil (Fr. Johnson)
I am Father George J. Kochuparambil, although I am known as Father Johnson, because my mother, Elizabeth, affectionately calls me so as I was born in the era of President Lyndon B Johnson. I grew up in the Southern Indian state of Kerala, where the Apostle St. Thomas preached the Gospel of the Lord 2000 years ago. I loved Church as a child and went to Mass daily and loved the Lord and the Eucharist.
Jesus called me to priesthood at a very young age and I joined the Seminary of a religious Order called the Oblates of St. Joseph. After finishing my college studies, I was sent to Rome to finish my Philosophy and Theology studies in preparation for my priesthood. During my days in Rome days in 80’s and 90’s, the memorable moments that are still etching at the bottom of my heart are being an altar server to Saint Pope John II on a few occasions and visiting the monuments in the city that rejuvenates every Christian’s faith. I was ordained a priest in 1991 in my native town, Panangad, India in the presence of my beloved parents George and Elizabeth.
During my 29 years of priesthood, I served the church as a Seminary Professor, Assistant Pastor and Pastor in India, Italy and in the US. In 2012, Most Rev. John Barres, then Bishop of Allentown, accepted me into this Diocese and l was officially incardinated thereafter as a diocesan clergy.
If you ask me what I do as pastime, I would say, I love playing violin, reading American History and visiting places. I thank God for this opportunity to serve you!
Catherine Deitrich - Parish Secretary
Hi, I’m Cathy Deitrich. I grew up in Hummelstown, PA, and moved to the Pillow area in 2003, where I’ve loved the slower pace and beautiful scenery. My husband, Jim, and I have been married for 23 wonderful years. While we don’t have children, we do share a love for horses and spend much of our free time showing our horse throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It’s a passion that keeps us on the road and brings us a lot of joy.
I've always felt a strong calling to use my gifts in service to the Church. I spent 10 years as a parish secretary in Lutheran congregations and then served for 23 years in the Bishop’s office of the Lutheran Synod. After that, I dipped my toes into retirement—but quickly realized that God wasn’t quite done with me yet. When I saw the position open at Most Blessed Trinity, it felt like the right nudge at the right time. I knew I still had more to give, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving in ministry.
